US Navy covers from the 1960s in a 1990s photo on USS Ling are shown below. Note the details match the WW II drawing. I am not sure, but these might be easier to sew as well (no piping.) Metal zippers and green coated fabric. The drawing calls this green lacquer coated fabric, spec. 27F11, 9.85 oz., imitation leather (for today, vinyl? or PVC? fire-retardant?) There is disagreement on what the WW II color was. The dark green is our best guess. These are the type of sliding bunks we are putting back into Pampanito.
Another photo, this time from USS Sarda in 1959: Mattress covers. We need 8 right now, but we will need at least 9 more to complete berthing restoration, and 12 to replace ones that are damaged on the boat. 30 would be great.
