Description: The Steam Ferryboat Eureka is a testament of resilience. Built in 1890 with the name of Ukiah, she survived in service on San Francisco Bay until 1957. She miraculously continues to serve the public as a floating museum in the modern day.
With camera in hand, rangers Chris Edwards and JR Earnest will be taking you throughout this vessel on a virtual trek from top to bottom. From the hurricane deck, where you will take in a special view of the bay, down to the very bottom of the ship, where you’ll encounter a walking beam steam engine. This engine is a classic piece of steam Americana that is the last of its kind still mounted on a floating ship.
Join us for this maritime experience and escape for a while from the everyday world.
