Architect William Mooser Junior $250

Father and son architects, William Mooser Junior and Senior, designed the building using the Streamline Moderne style of the late Art Deco period.  

Artist Sargent Johnson $500

Sargent Johnson, who was one of the first nationally recognized black artists, supervised the artistic projects during construction of the Aquatic Bathhouse.

Muralist Hilaire Hiler $1,000

Hilaire Hiler, known as an influential American artist and color theoretician, painted the iconic murals of the Aquatic bathhouse.  

Architect William Mooser Sr. $1,500

Father and son architects, William Mooser Junior and Senior, designed the building using the Streamline Moderne style of the late Art Deco period.  

Mayor Elmer Robinson $2,500

Mayor Robinson was the champion who advocated to turn the Aquatic Bathhouse into the Maritime Museum and building we have today.   

WPA Primary Event Champion $5,000

The Aquatic Bathhouse was a joint project of the City of San Francisco and the Works Progress Administration that was enacted during the Great Depression.
