Located in the after section of the after battery compartment is the crew's head with 2 toilets, the washroom, 2 showers and a washing machine. About 70 men shared these facilities.

There is piping from the drip pans on the air conditioning evaporators in the crew's berthing to supply some of the water for the washing machine. Even so, the washing machining was removed from many of the boats after WW II because there was rarely enough water for its use.
