Inside the escape trunk. There are three hatches.

  1. On the side is a door that leads under the main deck to a ladder that accesses the main deck. It is this door that can be shut using a lever from the Forward Torpedo Room.
  2. Below is the hatch leading to the Forward Torpedo Room.
  3. Above is the hatch leading to main deck. This is used with the rescue chamber, or for access to deck when on the surface.
