Inside the escape trunk. There are three hatches.
- On the side is a door that leads under the main deck to a ladder that accesses the main deck. It is this door that can be shut using a lever from the Forward Torpedo Room.
- Below is the hatch leading to the Forward Torpedo Room.
- Above is the hatch leading to main deck. This is used with the rescue chamber, or for access to deck when on the surface.
