USS PAMPANITO (SS-383)
This photograph was taken of the crew at Hunters Point Naval Shipyard during the Spring of 1945 during a refit to prepare for Pampanito's seventh patrol.
The wartime crew of USS Pampanito has held five reunions aboard the boat since the submarine opened to the public as a museum in 1982. In addition to renewing old friendships, the crew participated in an oral history project to gather the remembrances of Pampanito's most important asset, her crew.
If you know anyone who served aboard SS-383 (including 1960s reservists) please have them contact us at contact form or write to:
This photograph was taken on Pampanito's fiftieth birthday reunion, November 6, 1995.
