IRREGULAR and COMPARTMENTED STORES SHELTERS - OPEN
KANGAUNG LANDING GROUND. Stores shelters with and 4 compartments and another consisting apparently of 9 parallel trenches, some of which contain stores. The blast walls are probably of reinforced earth construction. Other 3 sided shelters are for aircraft.

RABAUL
Belly tanks and crated bombs within blast shelter formed by sod-covered earth revetment. Scattered fuel drums are located in right of the photo. A fuel truck is located in lower right corner. The planes are a Zero and a Val. The group located lower center is probably an outdoor repair unit. Two 4-wheel, bomb lorries are present within the blast shelter. The mound to the left of this small group of fuel drums is an earth-covered group of the same.

PARAMUSHIRO
Irregular-shaped storage shelters containing unidentified supplies (probably fuel or explosives). Located near large concentration of military barracks. Numerous M/V's are present on roads leading into the dump area. The blast walls are probably of earth construction. Track activity indicates entrances to the individual shelters. The blast walls do not completely surround the supply piles in every case, some being open-ended. Two large storage pits are located in the vegetated area at right of the stereo.
